The Beginning
Established in 2010, we began with Jim (company founder) selling Portage & Main Wood Boilers from a display located on the side of Hwy 97N just outside of Vernon BC. Our original company website was "Slash Your Heating Costs". In 2013 Jims youngest son Dan joined the company and worked as an apprentice learning from the ground up, installation of wood boilers and hydronic heating systems.
As our clientele began grew, so did the demand for additional energy independence solutions. (a large portion of our clientele are referrals from existing clients).
The Mission
With our clients in mind, we embarked upon a mission to search the globe for new technologies. As exploration progressed the objective evolved into testing how far we could push the “Off Grid” living envelop while maintaining the lifestyle of a home that is fully dependant with “On Grid” energies.
Off-Grid technologies are evolving at an amazing pace, replicating the growth of the PC industry in the 80’s. We know we are reaching our goals when we have to tell our guests we are Off Grid because we posses all the typical amenities of On Grid living.
Many people still envision living Off-Grid as having an icebox instead of a refrigerator, using candles and oil lamps for lighting and fetching water in a bucket from a stream.
Today and Beyond
We are actively engaged with many manufactures developing new products. There are now over 1000 products on our website store and many more being uploaded regularly.
We have spent over half a decade in development of our new “Off Grid Enerhub" all made possible with the support of our business partners around the world. The portable total energy solution module provides both heat & power to Off Grid cabins, residences, camps, developments, resorts, etc. EnerHub can also be installed as a backup system for On Grid applications.
